Marlene Brehm Set to Release First Solo Album On DREAM
January 17th, 2012 | JonFaulknerIt has become an increasingly true statement in the Christian Music Industry that you need to be a worship leader or know someone to make it into the Christian Music Industry. This certainly has been true for bands like Jesus Culture and Casting Crowns, the latter who was supposed to be the opening act for Steven Curtis Chapman at a show in Atlanta but was given the spotlight by Steven himself that night. So it is no surpsrise that the Worship scenes newest addition is a worship leader at New Hope Christian Fellowship.
At least it is no surprise that this is where Dream Records, part of the Universal Christian Music Group discovered Marlene Brehm. Before coming to New Hope Fellowship Marlene had a somewhat successful career in Hollywood, a native of San Antonio Texas she moved to California after honing her musical and theatrical skills in College to pursue life as an actor. After appearing several TV commercials she appeared on Without a Trace, That 70s Show and 8 Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.
But in these roles she had an increased call to sing about her faith and so she accepted the job at New Hope Fellowship, where she was discovered by Dream and now has announced the release on her first solo project Reach the Sky set to release April 10th. The album has a bit of a pop sound to it and sources say that you wont want to miss adding this one to your worship collection. It will be interesting to see how far the Lord takes this singing actress, very interesting indeed.
