Kutless has enjoyed a long tenured career in the Christian Rock industry. Their music has influenced artists and reached out to new and older Christians alike. They have multiple No 1′s and Top 10′s, a live album, a Christmas EP, two worship projects and with Believer coming out next week will have 7 full length studio albums.
Since bursting on the scene with the raw and heavy showing of their self titled debut Kutless has chosen a more refined sound, returning only to that raw energy on a few tracks. Recently the band made a change to more a worship band, writing brand new worship songs and songs built to encourage the listener. Through this evolution Kutless has never lost their edge.
From the beginning Believer feels a lot like a Kutless album, but once again the growth and maturity of a band who’s been around for ten years i evident. Each song is expertly crafted and holds constant to the message of salvation and the cross. The high powered opener “If It Ends Today” draws the listener in to worship, the song is also a solid rock anthem. Meanwhile the piano driven “Carry Me To the Cross” will bring the listener to a deeper place of worship and intimacy with God. Listeners will be pleased to find the skill of Original Kutless material that will both move you and surprise you at the same time.
This album will be a solid edition to the Kutless Discography and any music lovers collection, it is definatly one that I will be pre-ordering.
