Reprise recording artist Matt Toka will hit the road for a spring tour with Denver duo Breathe Carolina and label mates The Ready Set bringing his manic live show to fans across the country in March and April. “Matt Toka engages the crowd like a caged animal, pacing from either side of the stage, ensuring that his message is heard loud and clear,” wrote SoCalMusic.com of one of Toka’s club shows. The tour kicks off on March 21^st in Columbia, MO, and wraps up on April 27^th in Bloomington, IN. Please see below for all dates.

A native of Youngstown, OH, Toka has been generating a buzz for his punky/poppy melodic songs that reflect a brutally honest lyrical perspective fueled by his personal classic, all-American dysfunctional family experience.

Apart from the aforementioned single tracks, his You Tube videos have virally spread like brushfire. Videos for “666″ and “Ode to My Family”, have rallied an ever-growing peer audience along with his own homemade clips which are equally compelling. His aggressive, punk-inspired cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You,” his take on Coldplay’s “Paradise,” and a newly filmed frantic live version of “Say10“ have racked up views in excess of 300,000 and counting in 2012 alone.

Inspired by the storytelling of Bob Dylan, Noel Gallagher, and Billie Joe Armstrong, Toka locked himself in his one-room studio apartment to write the songs on his upcoming debut album, which he is currently recording with his idol, producer Rob Cavallo.

“The record is all about how hard life can be but you can’t let the small stuff bring you down,” Toka says. “There’s a lot of shit you can’t change, so make an effort to enjoy every minute. You can turn any kind of energy into something positive. If life gives you lemons, make a f**king drink.”
