The Lost Interview of Anberlin

We’ve all heard the news that music legends, Anberlin are pulling off the road and calling it quits. They’ll be greatly missed. Why the end? Why now? Will this be one of the bands to come back later?

Well, we actually had to chance to catch up with Christian, of the band, last September. If you’re interested to see what the band was thinking a year ago, you’ll want to check this out. This is an uncovered interview from the band that we never posted. Enjoy!

ARL: Your shows certainly have an energy about them. What would you say is your favorite part of live performance?
Christian: The crowd screaming back to me every single word. I would rather play in front of 500 people singing along with every word than 5000 people standing there bobbing their head.

ARL: At the root of it, what is the message you’re trying to get across to the people listening to your music?
Christian: To live inspired, in case no one has noticed we only get one chance at this life. “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” -Mae West

“Music is beyond a passion, it’s an obsession.”

ARL: What most influentially inspires your passion for music?
Christian: Music and I are intwined. It is always funny to me how much the 5 of us listen to so much music, before we walk on stage we listen, we then play a 2 hour show and as soon as were off someone is putting on more. Music is beyond a passion, it’s an obsession.

ARL: What can we be looking out for from you guys in the near future?
Christian: TOURING, touring like you have never seen. We plan on circumventing the globe this next year and look forward to every minute of it!

And they did TOUR like crazy. They hit up countries in almost every continent (sorry Antarctica), and most major cities in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK and more. They will be missed, but they had a hell of a ride. If they’re hitting your city next, be sure to go out and see them, before they’re just a “day late friend”.
