Hopes Die Last has come a long way from their home in Rome, Italy. Forming in 2004 and releasing two EP’s and their first album “Six Years Home”; the band is now back in 2012. The hardcore/scream band is releasing their second album “Trust No One” this album is definitely something to check out.

I’ll be honest, not very many hardcore/ screamo bands impress me anymore so I was caught off guard by this CD. The tracks on the album are not just songs that will keep your head banging to the beat but the lyrics are just as good. “Never Trust Hazel Eyed” impressed me deeply with the range of the vocals of Daniele Tofan working along the drums and instruments. A personal favorite of mine is “Unleash Hell” at one point in the song you get a hint of techno-y melody that I don’t hear that often from hardcore/ screamo bands today; and if I do it’s not incorporated in as nicely. Definitely something that really stood out to me.

The cover that Hopes Die Lasts does of Katy Perry’s “Fireworks” unquestionably caught my attention and had me hitting repeat on my laptop for a few hours. They didn’t just cover the song, they covered it but made it their own with their own style. Throughout eh album I was mighty impressed with these Italian rockers. Props to this album, now I have it on my phone and I listen to it right before I start my day; gets you in the mood to take on the day in a hardcore kind of way.

“Trust No One” is released under Standby Records and make sure to catch Hopes Die Last when they come to your town!
