In The Unlikely Event, is a six man metal-core band from Wichita, KS. They have been together since 2011, and have gone through a few line up changes and released an EP since September, 2011. What really sets them apart, is the fact that they are a metal band with a keyboard, and being from Wichita myself, that is definitely a way to stand out in this all but stagnant scene.

ITUE’s EP, Away from solid ground, is a breath of fresh air from all the heavy metal bands that are around the area. The mix between heavy bass and guitar with a mix of synths gives their instrumentals a sort of an Attack Attack sound. ITUE also has two vocalists, one for screaming and one for clean vocals, the scream vocals, especially in Get Those Kids Out Of Here, and Reptile Dysfunction, are a great range of high and low screams. I would like to hear more from the clean vocals, I feel like his voice kind of got drowned out.

Although this EP is only 4 songs long, it shows a great possibility with this band. I feel like the EP gets a 7/10. They have a great advantage of having the unique sound they do in the middle of Kansas. Go check out Away From Solid Ground, available on iTunes and Spotify.
