Since the release of Yashin’s first album ‘Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them’ back in 2010, you would almost think that the post-hardcore Scottish newcomers would find it hard to better themselves; until June 25th when they released their second studio album ‘We Created a Monster’. After much anticipation, in the end, it was definitely worth the wait, and the album lives up to its expectations. From the first opening seconds into their intro track ‘We Created a Monster,’ you already find yourself blown away. The production of the track is impressive, a great way to open the album, starting off slow but building up into a fast tempo, and creating tension before hitting into ‘Runaway Train.’ ‘Get the f*** up’ pretty much sums up this album. Just like their first album, there are fast, upbeat breakdowns and catchy vocals, making it hard for you not to move along with every track. From experience, Yashin are incredible, live and this album will definitely get the crowd moving.
‘Make it out alive’ and ‘The Last Ones Standing’ are just some of the tracks that also stand out on this album, and show how much the clean vocals from Harry Radford and screaming from Kevin Miles have improved. The album is a great progression. It shows just how much they have improved musically; and it’s good to see they arenow finally getting the recognition they deserve. Well worth a listen.
