Concert Reviews Goo Goo Dolls

Score: 9/10

Ever since I was younger I’ve loved Goo Goo Dolls. Slide, Iris, All Torn in Pieces, have always been favorites of mine. For years I had hoped to have the opportunity to see them in concert and I finally had it.

Upon arrival to the show, the opening band was just finishing up their set. They were a college band from Boston and from what I could hear, they were pretty good. Soon after they ended, the Goo Goo Dolls entered the stage and the entire arena went crazy. They opened the show with their song “Sweetest Lie” which was shortly followed by “Big Machine” and “Slide”. The whole arena was screaming and singing every word of the song back to the stage. Everyone was having a great time right from the start.

The quality and sound of the Goo Goo Doll’s music was just amazing. I can remember certain songs like “Black Balloon”, “Slide”, and “Iris” all gave me the chills when they played them. In addition to the great sound, they had excellent stage presence and really knew how to get the crowd excited. Although most concerts I attend focus lots on having all sorts of crazy stage props and lighting, Goo Goo Dolls kept it pretty simple. They had typical concert lighting, fog machines and a very cool back drop, but their main focus wasn’t on presentation but it was on their performance. They really knew how to put on a good show.

All in all, I had an awesome time at the concert and definitely would recommend seeing the Goo Goo Dolls to anyone if they ever have the chance. I know that if I ever have the chance, I will see them again.
